Hi Daniel, Thank you for forwarding this article to me. This has actually been very much on my mind and I have recently had somewhat of a ‘revelation’ about this. I also started with the original King James, and I found that reading some other translations were helpful in opening my understanding. I like the NKJ and the NASB, and just recently have also felt compelled to compare the New Living translation. When I study a certain verse/passage, I like to compare a few translations to make sure I get the correct meaning. However I am also wary of attempting to ‘twist’ the meaning to ’suit my purposes’.
The ‘revelation’ that I saw, was concerning the parables. I think Jesus understood that words and meanings could be misunderstood, and that His meaning could be ‘colored’ by misinterpretation. I believe this is why He often used parables. These parables/stories convey an entire thought/meaning that is not easily clouded by interpretation. They are a story that creates a vivid ‘picture’ in our minds. If we look at the different translations, and this ‘picture’ remains constant in most, then I conclude that I most likely have the true meaning. Most of what Jesus taught relates to the rest of the scriptures, so if we use this as a ‘mirror’, it helps to get the correct meaning of the rest of the scriptures regardless of the translation. I think if we find any translation that continually contradicts the meaning conveyed by most we should be wary. P.S. I do always seem to come back to the King James, but I am ablle now to read the King James as if it is ‘un-locked’.

Interesting theory. Many people in the US have theorized that our social security number is this mark. If there were a ‘one world government’…I could definately see the SS number being the model for this mark of the beast. I must also consider that John was writing as you say about things that had not been invented…tanks missles etc. So the 666 could also be figurative, and could be some other ‘grouping’ of numbers..or something completly different. I am hesitant to translate prophecies in a ’static’ way. I prefer to leave them ‘open’. I prefer to say, “I am ‘understanding’ this”, rather than say,”I understand this”. After all, God says to “open the book”, He does not say to ‘close the book’ in Rev 22. If we assume…..we ‘conclude’. If we conclude, we turn of our acceptance for further revelation. We turn off God’s ability to ‘reveal’ further to us. God is just ‘now’ opening the book. We cannot rush to consider it closed.

Danny,

Very interesting reading. The only thing that I know is, that the more I know the more I know that I don’t know. All I can do is live one day/moment at a time and trust that GOD will take care of me whatever/whenever and live each day as if it was my last…because it may be. When I have forgiven everyone and I am at peace and I know my Savior lives….all is well with my soul. But, things sure seem to be pointing to a conclusion. The word says that the world will wax worse and worse and in my lifetime…it certainly has. So I am keeping my eye out for signs of HIS soon return. HE is still giving man time to repent and turn to HIM. And if HE was not soon returning, and if there was not a heaven to gain and life eternal…..I would still serve HIM for the joy of knowing and loving my fellow Christians here on this earth.

I also wished I had taken the time to learn a second language…especially Spanish and perhaps German, since that is my ancestory. But, at this stage in my life I think I will stick to English and my beautiful prayer language. I am all for diversity, that is what makes the world such a beautiful place. GOD does all things well and yes HE understands even our heart cry…NO language needed to communicate HIS love and our love for HIM. Actions speak louder than words, a smile can change someone’s day. A look in someone’s eyes can let that person know/feel what you are saying.

I just read the story of Tracie. I knew that you and Teresa has lost a daughter, but I did not know any of the details. I wish I could have known Tracie. I know she was beautiful inside and out. It seems that some of the ones we love are just “loaned” to us for a short while then they are gone. The heartache is unbearable, but GOD who is faithful to sustain us through it is the only reason we can make it through with our mind in tact. I too have an adopted son and a natural daughter. And I have often been so thankful for the natural mother of my son for the opportunity to have raised him. He and my daughter looked like twins when they were children. GOD does all things well even though it is impossible for us to understand a lot of them.

Good Morning Danny,

I just returned from Israel yesterday. What a wonderful trip and expeience we all had. I enjoyed the 7 others on the trip with me..lots of laughter and tears. So many precious memories to hold dear for my life time.

Now to your Committment and Dedication letter. It is very well written and I agree with as much as I know. I do listen occasionally to the “white man” and he is extremely “uplifting” and see nothing wrong in that..don’t know the “black man”. I do believe in totally adhering to the written word of GOD and not deviating from it. But not to the point of getting legalistic. I grew up in a Pentacostal church, under a lot of legalism and I love my freedom in CHRIST. He is my everything. I love HIM with all my being. I would never want to hurt HIM like I have done in the past. I have to love others and hopefully, if they are in error, turn them back to the “straight and narrow”. I do not think that I could do this with my words, but with my love for them and when they see my heart for GOD and them..this will turn them. GOD was so patient with me to “conform” to learn a measure of obedience—and I have soo much more to learn. The only thing I know is that HE loves me and HE is patient and kind and will give us much time to grow up in HIM. BUT, HE is calling HIS own to become more like HIM, to come closer, to hear HIM speak sweet to our heart, to lead us, guide us and snuggle close to HIM. I can only speak for myself and hold myself accountable for my actions. I do not want to stand in judgement for those that are not walking the way I walk. I feel that there are a lot of mysteries for us to discover. HE is more patient than I would be–that is why HE is GOD and I am not. Further discussion would be my pleasure at our first opportunity. Hi Danny,
Yes, you spoke the truth. The only way I see out of this mess is the return of Jesus. He is my only hope and thank GOD, I am one of HIS and I fear for those that don’t know HIM during this “ride”. It is so much like Germany and all of that. We seem to be on a downward slide and are well past 1/2 way and the momentum is too much/fast to stop. How do you clean out the “hen house” when the chickens and foxes “look” just alike?” I never thought I would like to see this downward spiral of our once beloved country. BUT, on our knees GOD can still do great and mighty things. As the dark gets darker HIS light is going to shine brighter.

Brother Danny,

You hit it on the head, but do you think that politicians would work for $1.00? They should! If we, as a country would vote for men and women with servants hearts, then we might be able to get headed in the right direction. Until then we just have to survive what the government is doing to us. I for one, cannot afford government, this administration, and previous administrations have spent, excuse me, wasted our money for years and years. This administration promised change and it has given us the same old politics as usual. Where are all the changes that our current president,(help us Jesus) promised us. He found out that government was even too big for him to get a grip on, no less make drastic changes to it. As I said before we need to vote in people that want a smaller government that does only what it was intended to do, not run everything in our lives.

God Bless America, while the government still allows it.

Danny, I am proud to know you. Yea GOD for a man speaking the truth….wish more men would stand up. And yes, we need more “Tea Parties”. I have been seeing the same thing that you are writing….just like the ones that Hitler killed..they kept their mouths shut and were led to slaughter. I for one am going to the “Tea Party” in Orlando…..we should all be there. And we are a Christian nation…and I cancel the words that Obama said that we are not in JESUS name. Keep on writing for HIM.

Bring it, Brother Danny!

I remember sending you an email a few months ago where I expressed my sentiments on where most evangelical churches are headed. Many, I believe, will capitulate to the dictates of government to save their “flesh” but lose their soul. Much the same can be seen in other countries of the world today where the Bride of Christ is underground, the apostate is visible.

U.S. churches are walking much the same boulevard as the churches of Europe did and look what situation they find themselves in now. I concur that God will always have and has had, His witnesses. They are most of the time in the minority. Much like the great saints of old, we need to be faithfully strong in our confession of faith and bring in the harvest.

Thank you to you for being that faithful servant and witness, lo many years ago who presented the Gospel to my dead spirit.

Great article, Danny! I agree with your point of view – His Church WILL survive!!! Preach on!

As Romans 8:28 encourages us, I believe God is using this “apparent” persecution for (His) good to separate the “wheat from the chaff” in His Church.

Remember the passage:

” . . . ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught us in the streets.’
But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’
There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth . . .” (Luke 13:25-28 NIV)

Danny, you are right on target. I have read 2 of Bodie Thoene’s series on the Jews persecution during WWII, ‘The Zion Chronicles’ and ‘the Zion Covenant’. The books are ‘fiction based on truth’ and are great reading. Is history repeating itself? – you better believe it! When we sing ‘God Bless America’, we’d better mean it.
