Around The World (in 80 milliseconds!)

This is a follow-up to a previous posting (http://www.kingswayministries.org/archives/2541), “The Power of the Internet “.

A big movie in 1956 was “Around The World In 80 Days” (it won sixteen various awards!). The story was about a Victorian Englishman who bets that with the new steamships and railways he can do as the title says. It was an exciting 3-hour adventure to watch and listen to the great music.

That was 1956 – before the days of regular international passenger jet plane schedules. Since 1956, technology in EVERY field has grown algebraically! I could list just a few of the advancement but that would take 18-20 pages at least!

Since we are now at the beginning of the “Information Age” (yes, I said the beginning), that is what I want to emphasize, especially in regard to the return of Jesus.

I previously stated (in the other article) that the “conditions” that must be met prior to the return of our Savior have already indeed been met. With international, live television and the advent of the Internet, ALL nations (“peoples”) have been reached with the Gospel message. We have almost concluded the year (2009), and in the last seven months since converting to a blog site, KingsWay Ministries has had over 15,000 visits, worldwide. In October alone we had visits from 93 nations.

E-mail and other comments have been received from many, especially some nations where Christianity is banned (yes, in this day and time, there are a number of those nations). The most interesting communications are from Pastors/leaders of “underground” churches who say they are praying for us!

Others have said that they are using our postings as basis for their messages and Bible studies! I am sure we would have many others but, until now, our site has been English-based and that has excluded a lot of viewers.

NOW, through the efforts of a group in Germany, using Google, Bing (Microsoft) and CSS Sprite as translator engines, we have installed their translator module on the KingsWay site. This enhancement will allow many more viewers to read most of the text-based items on our site in their native languages!

If you look to the right of this article, just above the “Tracie” story, you will see the flags of a number of nations. By clicking on a flag, this site will be translated into the language of that nation.

Currently, we have 54 languages shown, including Haitian;  many are those of our regular visitors to this site. .

Notice that, although not all nations are shown, many use the same language. For instance, Great Britain, the USA and Canada natively speak English, shown by the American flag. However, Quebec, Canada, is a French-speaking territory; they could use the French flag. The same would apply to the Spanish-speaking countries, etc.

For those nations that are not represented or associated with another, let us know by e-mail and we will try to get those translation capabilities.

Countries like China, Japan and the African states have many local or tribal dialects. Unfortunately, not all of those are able to be added. However, we have included some basic languages of those locations that may assist in their understanding of our site.

Also, obviously we cannot verify that the translations offered are accurate, word-for-word. We are relying on these translation services. But, we pray that contextually, they are close enough to the real meaning that the message gets delivered!
