(This is a continuation of the previous post on Sharia law)
You undoubtedly have heard of the pending law suit by a Muslim employee against Disneyland (California). Apparently this woman has worked as a Disney employee for over two years. Now, she has decided that she wants to wear her headscarf in compliance with Sharia law, and Disney has refused her request.
Disney, a theme park, follows it’s prescribed “themes” that require certain costumes/dress apparel to be worn in the work of employees in “public view”. For instance, if the theme for a particular exhibit is based in the 1800’s, characters in that attraction would obviously have to wear period clothing (as supplied by Disney). That should be understandable.
The lawsuit includes complaints that Disney discriminates against her (Muslim) faith for denying her the wearing of the scarf. Disney has tried to compromise with her by asking her to wear a hat on top of the scarf. She has refused. They offered her another position “out of public view” so she could wear the scarf. She refused. That’s when she filed the lawsuit.
Two years ago when she applied for employment she had to agree in writing that she would follow all the rules that her position would require, including dress code and she had honored that commitment for the two years. Only now, with all the attention on Islam/Sharia, she has come forward with this complaint.
NOTE: I am not a proponent of or for Disney; I personally have boycotted them since 1983 over their exorbitant admission fees as well as their support of lifestyles that, according to the Bible, are un-Godly. But, I DO believe that they have a right to operate their business as THEY desire.
In the past, Disney has been known to “settle” or compromise such lawsuits so as to squelch bad publicity. I am concerned that, if they give in to the demands of this Muslim woman (and Sharia law), it will set yet another precedent for the forced implementation of that religious sect and its harsh laws and restrictions.
If this lawsuit against Disney goes to trial, and the judge and/or the jury decide in favor of the Muslim (religion), what’s next? Would Minnie Mouse have to wear a burqa that would completely encloak her (she IS female)?
By compromising in this way, we would be allowing yet another foothold in the United States to the requirements of Sharia law, thus making the Constitution a secondary document; essentially a historical but useless piece of paper!
As seen in other nations around the world, especially in Europe and Africa, Sharia law is like a cancer. It anchors itself in a small unsuspecting area and grows ever so slowly yet soaking up the very life of its host. And, at a pre-determined time it WILL metastasize; that is, will rapidly spread throughout the “body” (which is the United States of America) and we will have lost all of our Constitutional protections and freedoms.
Our forefathers decided that, to protect the inhabitants of this “New World” against religious persecution (in their case, the required membership in the “Church of England”), they had to form a confederation with (the states) and, if necessary, defend by force their “right” to choose their own faith walk. As we know, it DID require that forceful action.
They won, and for 234 years we have basked in those freedoms that they won for us and that our military has maintained. Now, again, our rights and privileges are being threatened. What action will we take? Will we stand by and let our life be taken from us or will we defend our rights once again.
As I have stated previously, I do not write things of this nature just for the occasion to post yet another document. This matter is serious, and we need to take whatever action is necessary to protect our sacred way of life!
It is up to us – NOW.

I, too, pray Disney does not settle with the person. Some places in America have already bowed to this ‘law of Muslims’ and it is going to get worse, each small step at the time. It is really puzzling that in some places a Christian is forbid to wear a cross around their neck or pinned to their shirt, but Muslims can work with a headscarf, and in some work places and some schools, Muslims are allowed to attend their specified places for prayer. As I said, one small step at the time.
