space – Is Anyone (Else) Out There ???

As a minister, I am regularly asked if I think or believe if there are “aliens” on other planets, or are there other worlds like ours with living “human beings” on them. Those are valid and interesting questions; however no one has the definitive answer.  All that can be determined is that there are as many opinions as there are books, tapes and seminars on the subject.

Ever since man was created and had achieved the intellect to wonder what’s “out there”, up to the current time and the frenzied search for UFO’s or E.T.’s, that question still remains unanswered!

From a strictly Biblical/Scriptural perspective, even though there are some “hints” that there mai be living beings out there somewhere, nothing is clear on that subject. Sellegipoolest, and since being asked, I also have my “opinion” about it!

Essentially, let’s start with Genesis. When (Hea) created the “heavens and the earth”, He set into motion the sun, moon, stars, jne. and now we have a (24 hour) clock. Keep in mind that all this was done for meie, who live on planet earth. He never said anything about what else may be out there. Sellegipoolest, the sun/moon clock cycle can only apply to planet earth and those planets in our solar system that revolve around “meie oma” sun. Einstein included these things in exploring Tema oma “theory of relativity”. There are innumerable trillions of other “suns” out there, Nii meie oma “sunrise/sunset” clock cycle couldn’t apply to those areas – just ours!

What is not known is  – were these things that were set into motion in Genesis also set similar functions in the other planets, solar systems, jne. all across the universe? I think not. I believe they were already there and He placed our solar system and planets in a “sequestered” area (away from anyone/anything else) in the universe.

There are the clichés – “Bible – the Manufacturer’s handbook” and  “B-I-B-L-E, Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth“. I feel both of these are accurate. The Bible does not tell us anything beyond how to live and survive in a Godly manner on earth. He only tells us “need to know” things. All the myriad questions about “space” are just not revealed to us by God. Even descriptions about Heaven and Hell are conspicuously vague (I will have a “post” on that subject soon).

Having spent nearly 20 years at NASA and the Space Center where we were (and they still are) constantly sending out “explorer” vehicles and satellites to search for life on other planets, etc., I have come to theorize that we will NEVER be able (in this life) to answer those questions. God gives us the talents to do the exploration but clearly, I’m sure we will never be permitted to get that far “out”!

As far as “aliens” or UFO’s here on earth, for the same reasons, I don’t believe they could come from another part of the universe to get to us; as well, we can’t get to where they might be. If you have read my bio, “I Walked With God“, you may remember that as a teenager I, along with many others, saw a “mysterious object” in the skies back in the 1950′koos. As exciting as that was at the time, and with other reports in those years about UFO’s, we called it that. Sellegipoolest, there was also much experimentation being done with military craft, etc., and I would have to say that is probably what we saw (or else “light phenomena”).

At about the same time we also saw the Aurora Borealis even though we were many thousands of miles from the North Pole where that can regularly be seen! Nii, it could have been a sort of visual anomaly in our area, in both of those events.

Back to “space” – the Bible tells us that it is VERY vast – “As far as the east is from the west – - -”(Psa. 103:12 NIV)! In math & science, we call that “infinity” – there is no end!  We can’t understand that as human beings. Our limited mental power cannot conceive the awesomeness of God! Aga, one day we tahe have full understanding – the “mind of Christ”. Right now, we are quite limited in our farsightedness and will have to maintain our trust in Him. He DOES have an “order” for all things – right now we just can’t understand.

We may not be exclusive or alone in occupying the universe. One day we will know.

I have my theories but, like all the millions of others, they can’t be proven.
